Biography
Alan Heim (also credited as Allan Heim) is an American film editor. Born on 21 May 1936 in The Bronx, New York, he has more than thirty feature-film credits and has been a member of the American Cinema Editors (ACE).
He had an extended collaboration with director Bob Fosse. For his work on All That Jazz (1979), Heim received the Academy Award for Best Film Editing, as well as BAFTA and ACE Eddie awards. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Network (1976). Other notable credits include Hair (1979), American History X (1998), The Notebook (2004), My Sister's Keeper (2009) and The Other Woman (2014).
Heim has served as president of both the American Cinema Editors and the Motion Picture Editors Guild.
