Biography
Ann Maskrey is a British costume designer. She holds a BA in Theatre Design and Craft from Wimbledon School of Art. Her early career included work in the costume departments of the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield and Glyndebourne Opera. She later worked as a freelance costume maker and workshop manager before becoming a designer for film and television, specialising in period and fantasy productions.
Maskrey served as costume designer on The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013) and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014). Other credits include The Man Who Knew Infinity (2015), the series Britannia (2017–2021), Mammals (2022), The Thicket (2024) and The Magic Faraway Tree (2026). She previously worked as assistant costume designer on the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
