Biography
Bob Buck is a New Zealand costume designer. He graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts with a BFA in painting and drama, and began his career in props at Auckland's Mercury Theatre before moving into costume work.
He worked as one of the costume designers on Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy (2012–2014), contributing to the design of the dwarves and the world of Erebor. His other credits include Avatar: The Way of Water (2022), Mortal Engines (2018), Krampus (2015) and Z for Zachariah (2015). He has also designed for the television series Time Bandits (2024).
Buck has received nominations from the Costume Designers Guild Awards for his work on the Hobbit films and from the New Zealand Film and Television Awards for Tracker (2010).
