Biography

Orlando Jonathan Blanchard Bloom is an English actor. Born on 13 January 1977 in Canterbury, Kent, he trained at the National Youth Theatre and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

He gained prominence playing Legolas in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001–2003) and reprised the role in The Hobbit series (2013–2014). He also portrayed Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean films (2003–2007, 2017) and appeared in Troy (2004) and Kingdom of Heaven (2005).

Bloom has performed on stage in the West End and on Broadway. In 2009 he became a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. He played Danny Moore in Gran Turismo (2023).
