Biography
Barry Mendel (born 1963) is an American film producer. His first feature credit was as producer of Wes Anderson’s Rushmore (1998).
He went on to produce M. Night Shyamalan’s The Sixth Sense (1999) and Unbreakable (2000), Anderson’s The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), Steven Spielberg’s Munich (2005), Joss Whedon’s Serenity (2005), and several films with Judd Apatow, including Bridesmaids (2011), Trainwreck (2015) and The King of Staten Island (2020).
Films he has produced have received multiple Academy Award nominations, including for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay.
