Biography
Barry Peterson is a Canadian-American cinematographer. Born in Alberta, Canada, he began his career in special visual effects before moving into live-action cinematography and shooting commercials for brands including Apple, Pepsi and Nike.
His first credited film as cinematographer was Mustard Bath (1993). After relocating to Los Angeles, he worked as director of photography on Zoolander (2001), which led to further studio films. He has collaborated frequently with directors including Rawson Marshall Thurber, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, and John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
Peterson's credits include 21 Jump Street (2012), We're the Millers (2013), 22 Jump Street (2014), The Lego Movie (2014), Central Intelligence (2016), Game Night (2018), Jumper (2008), Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023) and It Ends with Us (2024). On television, he has shot pilot episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine and The Good Place.
