Biography

Bill Kenney is an American production designer and art director. He began his career at Universal Studios in 1954 at the age of 18, working in various departments including labour, grip, machine shop and stock unit before advancing to set designer, assistant art director and art director. He left the studio in 1972 to work freelance.

His credits as production designer include Body Heat (1981), Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985), Rocky IV (1985), Rambo III (1988), Cobra (1986), Under Siege (1992), Eraser (1996) and Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997). Earlier work as art director encompasses Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and Carrie (1976). He is the son of a research department head at Warner Bros., Disney and Universal, and his father worked in film technicians' union IA 683. Kenney served in the US Army in Korea and retired at the age of 60.
