Biography
Brian Glover (2 April 1934 – 24 July 1997) was an English character actor, writer and professional wrestler. Born in Sheffield, he worked as a teacher and wrestled under the ring name Leon Arras the Man From Paris before beginning his acting career in the late 1960s.
His breakthrough came as the sports teacher Mr Sugden in Ken Loach's Kes (1969). Subsequent film roles included the chess player in An American Werewolf in London (1981), Captain Jimmy in The First Great Train Robbery (1978), the armourer in Jabberwocky (1977), Andrews in Alien³ (1992) and the castle henchman in Kafka (1991). He also appeared in television series such as Doctor Who and Bottom, and was the voice of the Tetley Tea advertisements. Glover performed on stage with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre.
