Biography
Bruno Delbonnel, ASC, AFC is a French cinematographer. He was born in 1957 in Nancy, Meurthe-et-Moselle, and graduated in 1978 from ESEC in Paris.
He has worked as director of photography on films including Amélie (2001) and A Very Long Engagement (2004) for Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), Darkest Hour (2017), The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) and The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021). He served as cinematographer on The Phoenician Scheme (2025) directed by Wes Anderson.
Delbonnel has received a César Award and a European Film Award, along with six Academy Award nominations and four BAFTA Award nominations. In 2019 he was appointed head of the cinematography department at La Fémis in Paris.
