Biography
Bryan Gordon is an American television and film director and writer. He began his career as a comedy writer on the ABC variety series Fridays in the early 1980s.
As an independent filmmaker, he wrote and directed the Academy Award-winning short Ray's Male Heterosexual Dance Hall (1987) and directed the features Career Opportunities (1991) and Pie in the Sky (1995). He has directed episodes of series including The Wonder Years, Freaks and Geeks (1999), The West Wing (1999), Curb Your Enthusiasm (from 2000), The Office, Weeds, One Tree Hill, Party Down (also as producer) and Grace and Frankie.
Gordon received a Directors Guild of America Award for comedy directing and was twice nominated for Primetime Emmy Awards for Curb Your Enthusiasm. He is married to filmmaker Jessie Nelson; their daughter is actress Molly Gordon. He attended the University of Delaware.
