Biography
Carol Leifer is an American comedian, writer and producer. Born in New York in 1956, she began her career performing stand-up comedy in the 1970s while at university and went on to appear on late-night television programmes including twenty-five times on Late Night with David Letterman.
She has written for television series including Seinfeld (1989), Saturday Night Live, The Larry Sanders Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Hacks (2021), on which she also served as co-executive producer and for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award. Leifer has acted in supporting roles and provided voice work in projects such as Desperately Seeking Susan (1985), Seinfeld, Bee Movie (2007) and Funny People (2009). She has also written for multiple Academy Awards broadcasts.
