Biography
Channing Gibson is an American screenwriter and television producer. He began his career writing episodes for series including Family (1978–79) and Eight Is Enough (1980), before joining the writing staff of the medical drama St. Elsewhere (1984–88), where he also served as a producer.
Gibson co-created the series The Byrds of Paradise (1994) and Murder One (1995–97). He worked as co-executive producer and writer on the second season of NYPD Blue (1994–95), for which the production team received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. He later wrote the screenplays for the feature films Lethal Weapon 4 (1998), Cradle 2 the Grave (2003) and Walking Tall (2004). He graduated from Yale University.
