Biography
Christopher Tellefsen is an American film editor. He studied photography and fine arts at the Cooper Union in New York and developed an interest in experimental filmmaking before entering the industry as an assistant editor.
He began his career in the late 1980s New York independent scene, working as an apprentice to Thelma Schoonmaker and as a curator for Martin Scorsese’s film archive. His first feature editing credit was on Whit Stillman’s Metropolitan (1990). Subsequent credits include Kids (1995), Gummo (1997), The People vs. Larry Flynt (1996), Analyze This (1999), The Village (2004), Capote (2005), Moneyball (2011), Joy (2015), A Quiet Place (2018) and The Menu (2022).
In 2012 he received an Academy Award nomination for editing Moneyball. He is a member of the American Cinema Editors.
