Biography
Dan Weil is a French production designer. He began his career working with director Luc Besson in the 1980s on music videos and films including The Big Blue (1988) and Nikita (1990). He continued the collaboration on Léon: The Professional (1994) and The Fifth Element (1997), for which he won a César Award for Best Production Design.
Weil has designed for international productions such as The Bourne Identity (2002), King Arthur (2004), Syriana (2005), Blood Diamond (2006), Defiance (2008), American Made (2017) and Chaos Walking (2021). He has also worked in television on series including The Serpent Queen and the miniseries Franklin. He teaches at La Fémis, the French national film school.
