Biography
David Mills was an American television writer and producer. Born in Washington, D.C., he worked as a journalist for The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Times and The Washington Post before moving into television.
Mills collaborated frequently with David Simon. He wrote episodes of Homicide: Life on the Street and co-wrote and co-produced the miniseries The Corner (2000). He contributed scripts to seasons four and five of The Wire (2002), wrote for NYPD Blue and ER, created the short-lived series Kingpin (2003), and served as co-executive producer and writer on Treme (2010). He died of a brain aneurysm in New Orleans on 30 March 2010, aged 48. His work earned Emmy Awards and Writers Guild of America recognition.
