Biography
Dennis L. Smith is an American television director, cinematographer and former camera operator.
He began his career as a news photojournalist for ABC and later worked as a camera operator on films including Stir Crazy (1980), Revenge of the Nerds (1984), License to Drive (1988) and Home Alone (1990). He served as cinematographer on the series Picket Fences, on which he made his directorial debut, and The Practice.
Smith has directed episodes of series including Boston Legal (2004), JAG (2002), Numb3rs (2005), The Vampire Diaries (2010), Fringe (2009), NCIS, Person of Interest (2011), NCIS: Los Angeles and Station 19 (2018).
