Biography

Doris Lloyd (born Hessy Doris Lloyd) was a British actress. She began her professional career at the age of 16 with a repertory company in Liverpool and later appeared on Broadway, including in several editions of the Ziegfeld Follies.

Lloyd moved to the United States in the early 1920s and settled there, making her film debut in the mid-1920s. She appeared in more than 150 films over four decades, often in supporting or uncredited roles. Her credits include Mrs. Agatha Travers in Disraeli (1929), a voice role in Alice in Wonderland (1951), and parts in Mary Poppins (1964) and The Sound of Music (1965). She died in Santa Barbara, California, on 21 May 1968.
