Biography
Dorothy Adams was an American character actress of stage, film and television. Born in Hannah, North Dakota, she began her career in the theatre in the 1920s with the Moroni Olsen Players and later appeared with the Pasadena Playhouse alongside her husband, actor Byron Foulger.
She made her screen debut in 1931 and worked steadily in supporting roles through the 1970s. Among her film credits are uncredited parts as Laura's maid in Laura (1944) and as Mrs Cameron in The Best Years of Our Lives (1946), as well as appearances in The Killing (1956), The Ten Commandments (1956) and The Big Country (1958). She also made numerous television guest appearances in the 1950s and 1960s.
Adams was married to Foulger from 1926 until his death in 1970; their daughter is actress Rachel Ames.
