Biography
Éric Serra is a French film composer. He was born on 9 September 1959 in Saint-Mandé, France.
Serra met director Luc Besson in the early 1980s and scored Besson’s first feature, Le Dernier Combat (1983). He has composed the music for most of Besson’s subsequent films, including Nikita (1990), Léon: The Professional (1994), The Fifth Element (1997) and Lucy (2014). He also scored the James Bond film GoldenEye (1995).
Serra won the César Award for Best Original Music for The Big Blue (1988) and has received several further César nominations.
