Biography
Frank Reicher (born Franz Reichert) was a German-born American actor, director and producer. Born in Munich on 2 December 1875, he died in Playa del Rey, California, on 19 January 1965. He is best known for playing Captain Englehorn in the 1933 film King Kong and its sequel The Son of Kong (1933).
Reicher made his Broadway debut in 1899 and remained active on the New York stage into the 1920s as an actor, director or producer. He began his film career with an uncredited role in the 1915 film The Case for Becky and went on to appear in over two hundred motion pictures, often in supporting roles.
