Biography
Geoffrey Rowland is a Canadian film and television editor. Born on 17 December 1946 in Vancouver, British Columbia, he began his career in the 1970s as an assistant editor on feature films including Rocky (1976) and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977).
He has edited numerous television series, among them Cagney & Lacey, Moonlighting, ER, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and four episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), including the two-hour pilot. His feature film credits include The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising (2007), The Stoning of Soraya M. (2009) and The Young Messiah (2016). Rowland received a Primetime Emmy Award for editing the miniseries The Path to 9/11 (2006), along with an American Cinema Editors Award for the same project and further nominations and wins for other programmes.
