Biography
Gerard McSorley is an Irish theatre, television and film actor. He began his career in theatre, performing at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, and appeared in the original West End and Broadway productions of Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa in the early 1990s.
His film roles include Belfast Detective Pavis in In the Name of the Father (1993), Cathal Brugha in Michael Collins (1996), Cheltham in Braveheart (1995), John Gilligan in Veronica Guerin (2003) and Sir Kenneth Curtiss in The Constant Gardener (2005). On television he played Father Todd Unctious in the Father Ted Christmas special and Michael Gallagher in the drama Omagh (2004), for which he received an IFTA award.
