Biography
Guillaume Aretos is a production designer and actor. Born in Paris, he trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris and the École Nationale Supérieure de Création Industrielle. He moved to the United States in 1996 and joined DreamWorks, where he worked as a visual development artist on Antz (1998) before serving as art director on Shrek (2001).
Aretos has been production designer on several animated features, including Shrek 2 (2004), Shrek the Third (2007), Puss in Boots (2011) and The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), as well as the forthcoming The Super Mario Galaxy Movie (2026). He has also provided voices for characters in the Shrek series, Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014) and Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos (2012). He won an Annie Award for production design on Shrek.
