Biography
Heinz von Jaworsky was a German cinematographer active from the early 1930s to the late 1960s. He began his career as an assistant to cameraman Hans Schneeberger and contributed to films including Leni Riefenstahl's Das blaue Licht (1932). He specialised in aerial, documentary and special photography, working on multiple productions during the Nazi era such as Wunder des Fliegens (1935), Der Kaiser von Kalifornien (1936) and D III 88 (1939).
Jaworsky served as one of the cinematographers on Leni Riefenstahl's two-part documentary Olympia (1938). After the war he worked in both East and West Germany on projects including DEFA newsreels and Quax, der Bruchpilot (1941). He later emigrated to the United States, where he continued working under the name Henry Jaworsky on shorts and features until the late 1960s.
