Biography
Hunt Stromberg (1894–1968) was an American film producer, director and writer. He began his career as a sports writer for the St Louis Times before entering the film industry in the early 1920s as a publicist for Goldwyn Pictures and later as personal representative to Thomas H. Ince.
From 1925 to 1942 he worked as a producer and supervisor at MGM, where he oversaw many of the studio’s major releases. His credits include The Thin Man (1934) and its sequels, The Great Ziegfeld (1936), which won the Academy Award for Best Picture, The Women (1939) and Pride and Prejudice (1940). He later produced independently for United Artists until his retirement in 1951.
