Biography
James D. Brubaker (1937–2023) was an American film producer and production manager. Born in Los Angeles, he began his career in the film industry as a driver and Teamster before advancing to production management roles.
He worked on several entries in the Rocky series, serving as a driver on the first film, production manager on Rocky II (1979), associate producer on Rocky III (1982) and executive producer on Rocky IV (1985). Brubaker produced Bruce Almighty (2003) and held executive producer credits on films including The Right Stuff (1983), Liar Liar (1997) and The Nutty Professor (1996).
From 2003 to 2008 he served as president of physical production at Universal Pictures. His work on the television film Gia (1998) earned a Directors Guild of America Award and a Primetime Emmy nomination.
