Biography
James Kahn (born 30 December 1947) is an American writer and medical specialist. Born in Chicago, he studied at the University of Chicago and completed postgraduate training in emergency medicine at USC–LA County Hospital and UCLA.
He is known for novelisations of films including Return of the Jedi (1983), Poltergeist (1982) and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984). His television writing credits include episodes of St. Elsewhere (1982), Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), Xena: Warrior Princess (1995), Star Trek: Voyager (1995) and Melrose Place (1992), on which he also served as co-executive producer. He was supervising producer on Star Trek: Voyager and received an Emmy nomination for his work on All My Children.
