Biography
James Quinn is an American film and television director, also credited as James J. Quinn and Jim Quinn. He began his career as a second and first assistant director on feature films including Smokey and the Bandit (1977), Reds (1981) and Gremlins (1984).
In 1984 he joined the production of the television series Miami Vice as first assistant director on eleven episodes and made his directorial debut on the show, directing three episodes in 1987. He went on to direct episodes of numerous series, including eleven episodes of Law & Order between 1990 and 2003, as well as work on Crime Story, Midnight Caller, Early Edition, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Providence. His final credited directorial work was an episode of The Division in 2004.
