Biography
Joe Hutshing is an American film editor. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1980 with a degree in fine and applied art, then moved to Los Angeles where he began working in sound editing before transitioning to picture editing.
Hutshing collaborated extensively with director Oliver Stone, editing Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and JFK (1991), for which he won Academy Awards for Best Film Editing. He received further Oscar nominations for Jerry Maguire (1996) and Almost Famous (2000), both directed by Cameron Crowe. Other credits include The Holiday (2006), The Tourist (2010) and The Greatest Showman (2017). He has also won a BAFTA Award for JFK and an Emmy Award for the television film Live from Baghdad (2002).
Hutshing is a member of the American Cinema Editors.
