Biography
Joel H. Cohen is a Canadian writer and producer. He has worked on The Simpsons since 2001 as a writer, story editor, producer and co-executive producer, contributing to numerous episodes and shorts including Maggie Simpson in "The Longest Daycare" (2012), The Simpsons in Plusaversary (2021) and May the 12th Be with You (2024). He also served as a script consultant on The Simpsons Movie (2007).
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Cohen received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alberta in 1988 and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business in 1992. Earlier in his career he wrote for Saturday Night Live and Suddenly Susan. He is the younger brother of writer Robert Cohen, who wrote the Simpsons episode "Flaming Moe's". Cohen is the author of the 2017 non-fiction book How to Lose a Marathon.
