Biography
John Rothman is an American film, television and stage actor. Born on 3 June 1949 in Baltimore, Maryland, he graduated from Wesleyan University and the Yale School of Drama. He began his career in theatre, appearing in Off-Broadway productions and writing and performing the one-person play The Impossible H. L. Mencken.
Rothman made his film debut in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories (1980) and went on to appear in several of the director's films, including Zelig (1983) and The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985), in which he played Mr. Hirsch's Lawyer. His other screen credits include Ghostbusters (1984), Big (1988), Gettysburg (1993) as Union General John F. Reynolds, and United 93 (2006) as Edward Felt. He has also had recurring or guest roles in series such as Suits, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and One Mississippi.
He is the brother of film executive Thomas Rothman.
