Biography
Jud Taylor (also credited as Judson Taylor) was an American television director, producer and former actor. Born in New York City, he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and began his career as an actor in the late 1950s before moving into directing in the mid-1960s.
He directed episodes of numerous series, including five of Star Trek (1968–1969), one of The Fugitive (1966), and later episodes of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Taylor directed more than 40 made-for-television movies, among them Tail Gunner Joe (1977) and Foxfire (1987). He served as vice president of the Directors Guild of America from 1977 to 1981 and as president from 1981 to 1983, receiving the guild’s Robert B. Aldrich Award in 2003. He was married to casting director Lynn Kressel.
