Biography
Kate Saxon is a British director working in television, theatre and video games. She has directed three episodes of the ITV series Endeavour, including the 2023 finale, two episodes of Call the Midwife (series 8, 2019), episodes of Grace, Silent Witness, EastEnders, Casualty and Doctors.
She trained as an actor before directing theatre and opera, later moving into television via a BBC multi-camera training scheme on EastEnders in 2013. Saxon was Associate Director of Shared Experience theatre company from 2000 to 2012 and the original Chair of Stage Directors UK. She has also worked extensively as a performance capture and voice director on video games including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Alien: Isolation and Mafia III.
Saxon was selected for the inaugural BAFTA Elevate group of female screen directors in 2017 and the Directors UK High End TV Drama Scheme.
