Biography
Kurt Neubert (3 April 1900 – 7 February 1970) was a German cinematographer. Born in Dresden, he trained as a photographer before moving to Freiburg im Breisgau in 1924, where he worked with the Berg- und Sport-Film company and became associated with the Freiburger Schule of mountain and sports film cameramen under Arnold Fanck.
He contributed to several mountain films and documentaries in the 1920s and 1930s, including Wege zu Kraft und Schönheit (1925), Der heilige Berg (1926) and Der große Sprung (1927). Neubert was part of the camera team for the Olympic documentaries Jugend der Welt (1936) and Olympia (1938, two parts). After wartime service he resumed work on feature films and further documentaries in the 1950s.
