Biography

Lee Ingleby is an English actor. He was born on 28 January 1976 in Burnley, Lancashire, and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art after attending Edge End High School.

Ingleby first gained attention for his leading role in the BBC miniseries Nature Boy (2000). He is known for playing Detective Inspector John Bacchus in Inspector George Gently (2007–2017), Paul Hughes in The A Word (2016–2020), and Vic Tyler in Life on Mars (2006). Earlier credits include Teenage Thug Leader in Spaced (2001), Stan Shunpike in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), and Midshipman Hollom in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003). He has also appeared in The Street (2006) and Line of Duty (2012).
