Biography
Louis D. Lighton was an American screenwriter and producer. He wrote or co-wrote the screenplays for around 40 films between 1920 and 1927, including It (1927) and Wings (1927), the latter co-written with his wife, screenwriter Hope Loring. He later produced around 30 films between 1928 and 1951.
Among his production credits are The Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935), Captains Courageous (1937), Test Pilot (1938), A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945), Anna and the King of Siam (1946) and No Highway in the Sky (1951). Lighton was born in Florence, Nebraska, and died in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
