Biography

Marilyn Putnam was an American costume designer and wardrobe supervisor who worked extensively in film, television and theatre. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she began her career in the 1940s and accumulated credits on numerous productions, often in wardrobe supervision or costuming roles.

Her film work includes wardrobe and costume department positions on The Godfather (1972), The Godfather Part II (1974), Annie Hall (1977), Kramer vs. Kramer (1979) and Raging Bull (1980). She served as costume designer on the 1981 television film Family Reunion and as wardrobe supervisor on the soap opera All My Children (1985–1995), for which she received a Daytime Emmy Award in 1990. Putnam died in New York City in 2002.
