Biography
Marius de Vries is an English composer and record producer. He was educated at St Paul's Cathedral School, Bedford School and Peterhouse, Cambridge.
He worked on the soundtrack for Romeo + Juliet (1996) as co-composer, programmer and co-producer alongside Nellee Hooper, receiving a BAFTA Award for Best Film Music. He served as music director for Moulin Rouge! (2001), for which he won a second BAFTA and an Ivor Novello Award. Other credits include executive music producer on La La Land (2016) and scores for CODA (2021) and Navalny (2022).
De Vries has won two BAFTA Awards, Grammy Awards and an Ivor Novello Award.
