Biography
Marton Csokas is a New Zealand actor. Born on 30 June 1966 in Invercargill, he trained at Toi Whakaari, the New Zealand Drama School, after earlier studies in art history.
He is known for playing Celeborn in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003), Guy de Lusignan in Kingdom of Heaven (2005), and Jarda in The Bourne Supremacy (2004). Other film roles include appearances in The Equalizer (2014) and Noah (2014). Csokas began his career in New Zealand television, including the soap opera Shortland Street, and has worked in theatre.
He won an AACTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Romulus, My Father (2007) and has been nominated for other Australian film awards.
