Biography

Matthew Schmidt (also credited as Matt Schmidt) is an American film editor. He has worked extensively on Marvel Cinematic Universe productions, often in collaboration with Jeffrey Ford.

Schmidt began as an assistant editor on The Avengers (2012) before sharing editing credit with Ford starting with Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014). Their joint credits include Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019), for which they received the Saturn Award for Best Editing, Black Widow (2021) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). He has also edited Captain America: Brave New World (2025).
