Biography

Mauro Fiore is an Italian-American cinematographer. Born in Marzi, Calabria, Italy, he moved to the United States with his family in 1971 and graduated from Columbia College Chicago in 1987.

Fiore began his career in camera and electrical departments before becoming a director of photography. His first major feature credit was Get Carter (2000). He established a long collaboration with director Antoine Fuqua beginning with Training Day (2001), and has worked on several of Fuqua’s subsequent films.

He won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography for Avatar (2009). His other credits include The Island (2005), The Equalizer (2014), Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), Madame Web (2024) and Heart of the Beast (2026).
