Biography
Michael Corenblith is an American production designer and art director. Born in Houston, Texas, he graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974 and began his career as a lighting designer before moving into film and television art departments.
He is known for his work on Apollo 13 (1995), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Art Direction (shared with set decorator Merideth Boswell) and won the BAFTA for Best Production Design. Other notable credits include How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000), for which he earned a second Oscar nomination, Frost/Nixon (2008), The Blind Side (2009), Saving Mr. Banks (2013), The Founder (2016) and Game Night (2018). He has collaborated frequently with directors including Ron Howard and John Lee Hancock.
