Biography

Michael Heimler is a film producer and Partner at Black Bear Pictures, where he has served as Head of Production and Operations since 2013. He is involved in the company's slate, with a focus on operations, physical production and finance.

He produced I Care a Lot (2021), Memory (2022), Somebody I Used to Know (2023) and Immaculate (2024). He served as executive producer on The Happytime Murders (2018), Ben Is Back (2018), The Rental (2020), The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) and I Want Your Sex (2026). He received an Academy Award nomination for Train Dreams (2025).

Before joining Black Bear, Heimler worked in the motion picture talent department at United Talent Agency in New York. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts – Film and Television from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
