Biography
Michael O'Herlihy was an Irish television and film director and producer. He directed episodes of numerous American series from the 1950s to the 1980s, including Star Trek (1966), Mission: Impossible (1966), Gunsmoke (1955), Maverick (1957), Hawaii Five-O (1969), MASH (1972), The A-Team (1983), Miami Vice (1984) and Matlock* (1986).
O'Herlihy directed the feature films The Fighting Prince of Donegal (1966), The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band (1968) and Smith! (1969). He received an Emmy nomination for directing the miniseries Backstairs at the White House (1979). He was the younger brother of actor Dan O'Herlihy.
