Biography
Mike Reiss is an American television comedy writer and producer. Born on 15 September 1959 in Bristol, Connecticut, he began his career writing for The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson and series including ALF and It's Garry Shandling's Show. In 1989 he joined the original writing staff of the animated series The Simpsons alongside Al Jean; the pair later served as showrunners for seasons three and four.
Reiss co-created the animated series The Critic and has contributed to films including The Simpsons Movie (2007) and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (2009). He has won four Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on The Simpsons and continues to contribute to the series as a consulting producer.
