Biography
Neville Kidd is a Scottish cinematographer. He graduated from Napier’s Film School in Edinburgh in 1989 and began his career with BBC Scotland, shooting news, documentaries and later drama.
Kidd is known for his work as director of photography on the series Sherlock (2010), Doctor Who (2005), Outlander (2014) and The Umbrella Academy (2019), as well as the miniseries Childhood’s End (2015). He has also shot episodes of Altered Carbon (2018) and Travelers (2016).
He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a Miniseries or Movie for the Sherlock episode “His Last Vow” and a BAFTA Award for Best Photography: Factual for A History of Scotland. He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
