Biography
Nicholas Sgarro, also credited as Nick Sgarro, is an American director and former script supervisor. Born on 10 September 1925 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he began working in film and television in the 1960s as a script supervisor and continuity assistant on productions including Midnight Cowboy (1969), The French Connection (1971) and The Exorcist (1973).
He moved into directing in the mid-1970s, helming the feature The Happy Hooker (1975) and episodes of series such as Kojak (1973), CHiPs (1977) and The A-Team (1983). Sgarro is noted for directing 54 episodes of the soap opera Knots Landing (1980–1993) across all fourteen seasons, the only person to do so.
