Biography
P.A. Lundgren (1911–2002) was a Swedish production designer and art director. He began his career as a commercial artist in advertising before moving into film in the 1940s.
He is known for his long collaboration with director Ingmar Bergman, serving as production designer or art director on eighteen films between 1946 and 1971. These include Summer with Monika (1953), Smiles of a Summer Night (1955), The Seventh Seal (1957), The Virgin Spring (1960), Through a Glass Darkly (1961), Winter Light (1963), The Silence (1963), Shame (1968) and The Passion of Anna (1969). He also worked on films by other directors, including Jan Troell's The Emigrants (1971) and The New Land (1972).
