Biography
Paul Murphy is a British television director and producer. He grew up in Bolton, Lancashire, and after travelling and attending film school graduated with first-class honours. He lectured at the University of Salford while making award-winning short films, including I'm Frank Morgan.
Murphy began directing continuing dramas such as Brookside, Casualty and Holby City. He went on to direct episodes of Doctor Who (2014), Death in Paradise (2015), Cuckoo, Galavant (2016) and American Housewife. He joined the Directors Guild of America and has worked between the United States and the United Kingdom.
Later credits include directing and executive producing Red Election (2021) and North Sea Connection (2022).
