Biography
Paul Shapiro (born 1955) is a Canadian television director, producer and writer who has worked in both Canada and the United States.
He began his career in 1973 on the short-film anthology Life Times Nine, which received an Academy Award nomination. While a student at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute he directed the television film The Understudy (1976). Early credits include the series Street Legal and Road to Avonlea and the films Hockey Night (1984) and The Lotus Eaters (1993), his only theatrical feature.
Shapiro has directed episodes of numerous series, including The X-Files (1993), Millennium, Dark Angel (2000), Roswell (1999), Smallville (2001), 24 (2001), Heroes (2006), Supernatural (2005), Criminal Minds (2005) and Continuum (2012).
